Masjid Haji Muhammad Salleh sits on piece of waqaf land within the bustling Central Business District. The mosque is flanked to the left by the elevated East Coast Parkway and on its right by Mount Palmer on which sit two important shrines of Habib Noh and Habib Abdul Rahman.

Maqam Habib Noh

Maqam Habib Noh is the mausoleum of Sayyid Noh bin Sayyid Mohamad bin Sayyid Ahmad Al-Habshi (1788 – 1866), a saint whose lineage traces back to Prophet Muhammad SAW. He was well-known for his widely reported miracles and his immense compassion for people in his times. The mausoleum also houses the tomb of another saint, Habib Abdur Rahman, a cousin of Habib Noh.
